Both Associations require active members to be certified in orthodontics from an accredited orthodontic residency and have their dental license in good standing.

Also, Dr. Tottori is a member of the Hawaii Academy of Sports Dentistry. The current focus of this Association is to educate the local sports community in the use of custom sports mouthguards and the significant amount of protection they offer over stock, off the shelf mouthguards. As a member of this Association, Dr. Tottori has volunteered his time in helping fabricate custom mouthguards for several football teams, including the University of Hawaii. As a service to his patients he offers custom mouthguards at cost to his patients.

He was a member of the Lokahi Canoe Club where he raced in both the long distance and regatta seasons.
